In
response to Harley's redesign, fans have organised to let DC Comics know
how they feel about it!

Let
DC Comics hear your voice and join in this old-fashioned letter-writing
campaign!
IN
late 2011, fans decided to organise in order to let DC Comics know we are
dissatisfied with the new direction they are taking Harley in, particularly
her new look.
Fans
all over the world are signing up for protest postcards (shown at right)
to mail into DC, articulating our dissent!
We
chose postcards because going the extra mile that is involved in writing
something out by hand and mailing it the old-fashioned way is a strong
statement of commitment!
If you'd like to take
part, email me privately at harleyquinnhaven@gmail.com
with your postal address** and you will receive 5 postcards (image to the
left), fully addressed to DC Comics with blank space for you and your friends
to write your message to DC: that the direction they're taking Harley in
(particularly her redesign) is NOT one you, as a fan, can tolerate!
If we want DC
to take notice that this "new look" is not winning us over, we need to
be proactive and make sure they get the message!
If you can afford it,
a donation of $5 (via paypal to harleyquinnhaven@gmail.com) to help cover
costs would be appreciated. Donations will be used to help:
* Pay for printing
costs ($55 per 100 cards)
* Purchase the envelopes
the cards will be mailed to participants in
* Postage of the cards
to participants all over the world
If you can't afford to donate,
don't worry - I am still happy to send you cards because I want everyone
who cares to be able to get involved!
SO PLEASE: send
me your postal addresses so we can get this campaign under way! If enough
of us send in postcards, DC will have to take note!
If
you want to contact DC through methods of your own, you can give them your
feedback directly through the letters submission page on their website.
You can also write
your own letter or postcard into DC at the following address:

image (click on it to open it full-res) at 6 inches by 4 inches on cardstock
to make your own postcard!
GUIDELINES FOR
LETTER WRITING:
These
have been proven to be the most effective way of getting DC to take notice
of feedback:
1.
WRITE IT ON THE BACK OF A POSTCARD
Think
about DC's incoming daily mail. Insane. Don't waste your time or theirs
with envelopes - a single piece of paper that can be picked up and its
message read instantly is the way to go.
2.
KEEP IT SHORT
Hey,
if anyone loves to ramble about Harley, it's me. You all know that! But
DC, by and large, just doesn't care. The creative teams & editors are
too busy to read long, rambling, philosophical meta essays. Many DC staff
trawl the internet and read fans' websites, but they do that on their own
time. SO. Don't carry on. Tell them simply.
3.
DON'T BE ABUSIVE
Yeah,
I'm angry, you're angry, we're all angry. Save it for the internet. Keep
it direct, polite, sincere and even positive! Keep it to the basic information.
Mention how much you enjoyed Harley's classic look and the reasons why
you feel the new one isn't right for her.
4.
SEND IT
Seriously,
get up off the couch now, find a postcard and a stamp and do it. Don't
talk, take action.
If
we FLOOD DC with hundreds of postcards all saying the same thing, they
are going to take notice! |
